Parents Turned Voicemail Into a Treasure Trove of Love

A little while back, u/Lady_Ink_Drinker‘s mom stumbled upon the voicemail feature, and let’s just say, life hasn’t been the same since—in the sweetest way possible. Now, whenever her calls go unanswered, she leaves voicemail messages like she’s having a full conversation. It’s always something adorable, like “Oh, you’ll hear this later” or “Wait, did I already ask you this?”

Voicemail Story

One day, the mom was explaining voicemail to her husband while leaving a message. The exchange was nothing short of gold. It went something like, “You talk, she can hear… wait, not like that. Just ask the next question.” Her dad, clearly puzzled, chimed in, “But if she’s listening, why isn’t she answering?”

it was like “you talk, she can hear, okay not like that, ask the next question..” and my father was “how?”, “If she’s listening then why isn’t she answering..”. That was a very precious conversation 😅

Now, both parents have gotten into the habit of leaving voicemails regularly. Whenever their child feels homesick or a bit down, replaying those messages brings an instant smile. It’s become a little reminder of the warmth and love waiting back home. Sometimes, it’s the smallest things in life that end up meaning the most.
